What an Obama Presidency Means: JOBS
Anna Hennings | Excelle
The newly elected Democratic presidency will literally create millions of new jobs in order to re-build America after the recent economic downturn.
In an Ohio economic speech earlier this month, Obama stated: “Today I’m proposing a number of steps that we should take immediately to stabilize our financial system, provide relief to families and communities, and help struggling homeowners. It’s a plan that begins with one word that’s on everyone’s mind, and it’s spelled J-O-B-S.”
So, where will jobs be growing, and how will he support America’s working women? Read on for an in-depth look.
Breaking News Update: 2.5 Million Jobs by 2011
Obama and his economic team are working hard to develop an Economic Recovery Plan — the details of which are still being worked out — but according to Change.gov is “a two-year, nationwide initiative that will strengthen our economy and put millions of Americans to work rebuilding our crumbling roads and bridges, modernizing our schools, and securing our clean energy future.”
What can we expect as working, or looking-for-work, Americans? Concisely put, Obama is investing in our economic future, promising 2.5 million additional jobs by January 2011.
Here it from the president-elect directly in his Weekly Video Address, released on November 21st.
For The Ladies
As president, Obama will continue to promote paycheck equity and close the wage gap between men and women. Read on for details on how he will expand paid sick days, invest in women-owned businesses, and promote women in math and science.

Why Education Matters
While jobs are available for people of all education levels, high-impact jobs require applicants to earn college degrees. Across the board, employees with bachelor’s degrees or higher are eligible for greater salaries, better benefits packages, and also tend to have more job stability.

There is absolutely no reason to "attack" anyone --- this is a public article and if people do not wish to read it, then they shouldn't.

Ginadiva: I'm going to say a special prayer for you tonight. Did you really think that the offensive comment you made would not be responded to? BTW Shelleree is a WONDERFUL person and is valued here on this website. And I hope like crazy that she was just venting when she said she was leaving.

Doreen, thanks for trying to be the one with the cool head, but I can't let this one go without saying something.
I'M STUNNED BY GINADIVA'S REMARKS! How UNBELIEVABLY RACIST! I definitely see why you voted and it was NOT motivated by what's in the best interest of the USA. Your reason is clear, and it is racial. I have NEVER witnessed a more offensive post on this site, and in my opinion you should be ashamed of yourself. If you're so into God, perhaps you should fall to your knees right now and beg Him for forgiveness for your cruel and offensive words, ask for His guidance on actually acting in a Christian manner, and then come back here and apologize to each and every one of us that this offended. I've "met" many women of color on this website, and NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM would EVER say anything that cruel. In fact, if I were a betting woman, I'd put my money on the fact that many who share your race would be offended by this. SHAME SHAME SHAME ON YOU!!!!

Sherrie and Pamelia - I am with you. Regina has turned this into a racial thread which it was supposed to be about promises Obama made to give jobs to our countrys people. It has nothing to do with him being black. He is our president and we have the right to voice our concerns!

Thank you Sherrie I agree with you. Why is this a black and white issue for Regina? America is not just black and white. There are many other nationalities in our beloved country. But know matter what color you are we are all simply Americans hoping our next President will be worthy of the office he was elected to.

Regina,
I find your comments offensive. You obviously have a chip on your shoulder, and it's aimed at the white race. Isn't that called reverse racism? The people who have doubts about Obama probably Did vote for McCain. Now that he is OUR President-elect,Americans (which include Republicans) will support him as the leader of our country. It's up to him to prove that our support in good faith is warranted, as it would be for ANY leader elected.

I thought that after haveing a black president voted in I would finally quit hearing the poor me bullshit. He worked hard to get to where he will be in a few weeks. And if you truely are a person who believes in God then throw the racism out. We all want a better America and will take ALL of us to get there. It doesn't matter what color you are as long as you vote and work hard to better you self. The biggest thing that I look forward to is seeing what he does cut from the budget that we have all been paying for that wasn't needed.

I am not sure if Obama will create as many jobs as he promises but the cost will be heavy. People don't seem to realize that WE ARE the government. The cost of building those roads, bridges and infrastructure is coming from US the taxpayer. So basically we are paying ourselves to build all of those things. I have to chuckle when I hear people say the government this or that as if the government has some field behind the white house with money trees in it we are the money trees. If Obama puts into play all the spending that he would like to do your childrens childrens children will still be paying for it. I hope that we build some kick ass roads to last that long.
