15 Toughest Interview Questions (and Answers!)
Tania Khadder | Excelle
1. Why do you want to work in this industry?

Bad answer:
“I love to shop. Even as a kid, I spent hours flipping through catalogues.”
Don’t just say you like it. Anyone can do that. Focus instead on your history with that particular industry, and if you can, tell a success story.
Good answer:
“I’ve always loved shopping, but my interest in retail marketing really started when I worked at a neighborhood boutique. I knew our clothes were amazing, but that we weren’t marketing them properly. So I worked with management to come up with a marketing strategy that increased our sales by 25% in a year. It was great to be able to contribute positively to an industry I feel so passionate about, and to help promote a product I really believed in.”

Lots of useful information! There are always lots of lists of questions, but rarely any examples of what to say or not say in an interview.

This is a great article. My daughter recently filled out an application and asked me what she should answer to the greatest weakness question. I did not have a clue what to tell her. I will connect her to this article. I will also use it myself as I am currently in the job market and will be going on interview soon.

While getting my associates, we were asked these questions in our mock interviews and while I knew what I wanted to say, it just never came out that way. I freeze. saying um..... pausing....and more ummmms. I hate being put on the spot and I have to oversome these issues if I want to land the great career I am looking for. These are true questions and I havve saved this page to review when I get interviews. Anyone with any suggestions on getting over the freezing point??? Help!!!
