10 Ways to Make Yourself Unfireable

I’m not suggesting you stay until midnight. I’m not even suggesting you miss prime time. What I am suggesting is that you be prepared to stay until the task at hand is finished.
In the past, you might have left work at 5pm, just short of completing something (reasoning that you’d finish it up in the morning). Nowadays, it’s good practice to stick around that extra half-hour or hour it takes to get it done.
You may also consider coming in 15 minutes early so that you can get yourself organized before the workday begins. You don’t want to be the girl who’s scrambling to start-up her laptop in time for 9 am meeting.

i AGREE WITH ALL OF THIS WHICH MAKES MY BEING LET GO A JOKE FOR WHO THEY GAVE IT TO, MY POSITION. THIS PERSON PUT FAMILY FIRST, MADE IT POSSIBLE TO GET AWAY WITH THREATING A HIGHER POSITION PERSON, AND ALWAYS RECEIVED MORE RAISES THAN ANYONE ELSE. SHE WAS SAME AGE AS SUPERVISORS, WHICH MEANS THEY WERE FRIENDS. SHE PASSED A RUMOR AROUND THAT THEY WERE OBTAINING DRUGS TO LOSE WEIGHT.. EVERYONE WAS SO SHOCKED I WAS LET GO.. AS WAS I. THAT PLACE WAS A JOKE..

Nice article. The people I work with do almost all of them, except keeping positive. That's the hardest one to do in our climate of cut-backs and uncertainty.
