Tania Khadder and Zac Frank
![]() |
Like them or not, their celebrity status means not only have they achieved career success, they’ve also got a hell of a lot to lose. And sometimes, whatever actions have helped catapult them to fame or rendered them B-list can provide valuable lessons for the careers of regular people like you and me.
Excelle presents 20 career lessons from celebrities. Some are good. Some are bad. Some are just plain ridiculous.

People like Dick Cheney tell us what NOT to do. Don't you people get it? It's not saying to behave like all of these people, but instead what you can learn from their mistakes.

Drug addicts, crooks, political wannabees, and adulterers are not the people I want to give me career advice. Yes, there are many grammatical errors in the article.

Much of this has no relevance to an office job, and many of the people listed on here are not even good role models-- some even seem as if they were picked at random. How can you compare Oprah to Britney Spears? Shaking your booty for a camera has nothing to do with getting a real job. It is hard to respect women who do that-- all this has to do with creating a superficial image that sells ... Perhaps this is what you are referring to by the word, "success?" Exactly what does this have to do with real hard work?... Actors and pop stars who make millions of dollars for a single project or ad campaign by no means live in the same dimension as everyone else who is dying from exhaustion due to their insanely low-paying job. Moreover, if you are going to include people from the music industry, which is still quite irrelevant, at least include REAL musicians who actually create their own music and have made a real lasting impact on society. I don't see much variety here-- I just see a bunch of tv/movie stars and politicians-- and for many of them, their success seems to be based on how much money they made rather how much good they have contributed to American culture. After all the misery the Bush administration has caused this country, I really can't even believe you would put Mr. Cheney on the list! Please be more selective with the people you choose!

Super awesome!! I love it, especially since it was a nice balance of men and women across tons of different industries/celebrity statuses.
What are you all talking about in terms of typos? This looks totally clean to me! Now I'm super curious what I'm missing - can you point them out? Would also probably help Excelle's staff to know what typos they should fix...

I agree that the typos were very distracting. If this was written by an amateur, I wouldn't think anything of it, but this is supposed to be professional. There is a reason for proofreaders (and spelling/grammar check).
That said, I believe J.K. Rowling's book was published as "...Philosopher's Stone" in UK and "...Sorcerer's Stone" in the US (I may have that backward, but both titles are correct).

Great info, but there were so many typos and grammatical errors, I started to feel embarrassed for the authors of this article, focusing more on the mistakes than content.
If we are to receive quality info, make sure you provide quality work to ensure that what you urging us "readers" to do, you do likewise.

Some good tid-bits. Isn't J.K.Rowling's book "Harry Potter and the Sorcer's Stone"?

As from one of the books that I love to read it says there "Thoughts are Things..." and this people did not stop until they found what they are looking for.

Well I thought I wouldn't like this article, but I was wrong. The profile's for the underdog were the best (#8, #10), these two let me know there is still hope to achieve the dreams i"m striving for.

this was a good read. My favorite was #8 Susan Boyle. I liked #20 also, but i had never considered J. K. Rawling a celebrity. Huh! just goes to show you what i know. but i like the "underdog". Not so sure about the ones on chaney and Trump. whatever.
