About Me
I am changing careers after 26+ years in business in industrial chemical distribution. I am in nursing school & plan to finish in 1.5 years (the first degree anyway!). I am really excited about the change because health care is an area I have always been interested in, and I want to work in a field where I can help others. Our Westie-mix terrier is our first dog. His name is Curly & we fostered him for a week for the animal rescue group I work with. He was adopted very quickly, before we realized we wanted to keep him. The family that adopted him found that the mom & a son were allergic to him, so we got him back.(Yay for us!) He is now 4 yrs. old and has a "sister", a 12-yr old female Bichon Frise rescued from a puppy mill. I absolutely love fostering dogs, but my husband is allergic to many of them. I hope to do more in the future when I am finished with school. So many dogs - too little time! If it weren't for allergies, I would probably have my own personal zoo!! Dogs & birds, in particular! I have two grown sons (28 & 22) who are successful musicians, and am remarried with 3 step-children (23, 17 & 15 - 2 daughters & a 17 yr old son). I never had a daughter & working through teen years with one is an "interesting" experience! Like all of us, I have a busy life, and try to spend time with friends & my large family as much as I can. I also enjoy my alone time, especially because it is a rarity! ------------------------------- Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
