About Me
Just for the record, the "avatar" is Connie Britton, star of "Friday Night Lights" on NBC. She appears here on the strength of our strong resemblance, and because I really admire any woman who graduated from Dartmouth in the early days of its coed incarnation. Me? I went to Cal...for a long, long time. And then I professored... for a long, long time. And, now, finally I write. I love writing more than food, sex, and Disneyland...combined. What an absolute luxury to write all day and night and get a paycheck sometimes! Like most hardcore freelancers, I write more than 10,000 words a day on some of the world's most arcane, bizarre, and vaguely criminal subjects. The internet has changed the rules: Grammar still counts, but "SEO" counts more. Who am I to complain? It's better than chocolate-covered sensual ecstasy on Splash Mountain.

    I'm sorry, everyone. I know it looks as though I totally have lagged here; but in the last four months, the family and I have been to hell and back. We finally are starting to get back on track, and I'm eager to get back to regular Excelle visits.
