"Disciplining employees can be time consuming, difficult, and challenging. However, if you want the disciplinary action process to go as smoothly as possible, it is important to develop clear policies and procedures that will result in a strong disciplinary action program. By having a solid program in place, it will help to protect you and your organization. Below are some steps ..." |

"Ernest Hemingway once said “When people talk, listen completely. Most people never listen.” How true that is. How many times has someone asked you how you were, but doesn’t take the time to listen to your response? They may cut you off, start talking about themselves, or walk away. If you’re like most people, this behavior probably leaves a sour taste ..." |

"When you think about having a performance evaluation or review, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? For many people, however skilled and good they may be at doing their job, the thought of an upcoming performance evaluation creates anxiety. Expecting the worse, people tend to focus on the negative feedback, never hearing the positive feedback. This article provides ..." |

"In the nonprofit field, salaries are generally low and working with clients who have multiple needs can be challenging. Although this can make employee retention difficult, there are steps you can take to provide a work environment that is supportive and fun, one that individuals look forward to coming to every day, and one in which they want to remain. As ..." |

- About Me
- I am an Executive & Life Coach, and CEO of Create It! Coaching (http://www.createitcoaching.org). Although my coaching niche is to partner with nonprofit executive directors and managers to maximize their resources in a competitive environment, I am passionate about working with all professionals who want to create positive changes in their personal and/or professional lives. I have held a variety of jobs throughout my career, ranging from being a vocational counselor to President of a national certification body. I was a former Executive Director of three organizations (two of them nonprofit agencies) and, thus, understand the multiple challenges that nonprofit EDs face in managing their organizations. Please visit my Nonprofit Professionals blog at http://www.createitcoaching.com. I have always enjoyed the challenge of developing grants, programs and agencies. My greatest strength is infrastructure development. I was born in Detroit, Michigan. At 19 years old, I was in an automobile accident. I sustained a spinal cord injury, which left me paralyzed. Having been an active person prior to my disability, my life changed in an instant. I knew it wouldn’t be the same but I wasn’t ready to take a passive role in shaping my future. I understood the importance of graduating from college and using my mind, as physical jobs would no longer be a reality. I received two BA degrees (one in Social Work and one in Psychology) from Michigan State University in 1981. I then received a Master’s degree in Social Work Administration from the University of Michigan in 1983. I moved to Denver, Colorado in 1985 and then to Tucson, Arizona in 1998, which is where I currently reside. I call the 14 years I spent in Colorado my introspective years. I took all types of spiritual classes and engaged in a variety of “New Age” experiences. I felt that something was missing in my life but I didn’t know what it was. I couldn’t put my finger on it. I kept looking outside of myself to find that one item that would make me truly happy. As the years passed and my exploration continued, I finally realized that that missing item was self-love. By truly accepting and loving myself, I learned that was all I needed. I haven’t looked back since that time. I now know what true happiness is and I want to share it with the world! WHY I GOT INTO COACHING In 2007, I knew I wanted to make some changes in my life. I had been working 65 hours a week, I was traveling quite a bit, and my personal life was practically non-existent. I wanted to pursue a new opportunity that would allow me to work less hours yet still be something that I really enjoyed. As I reflected over my life, I noted that I have always enjoyed helping people, that I was a good listener, and that I was often a catalyst in empowering people to take control of their lives and make desired changes. A Pima Community College professor introduced the concept of coaching to me and the rest became history. I’m excited about this new adventure and am looking forward to helping you to achieve the life you’ve always desired!

I just returned to school and I am taking classes online. My PC is great, but it would be very beneficial for me to get a laptop, which I do not have nor can afford right now. Do you know of anyone who may have a used one for sale or know of a program for student discount? Please let me know! Thanks and have a wonderful weekend!
