Unique Challenges & Rewards
Just as the saying goes in superhero comics: “With great power, comes great responsibility.” In more ways than one, a working mother is superhuman. Juggling a career, family, and still finding time to relax, have fun, and pursue passions? Not easy.
Here at Excelle we know that working mothers face unique challenges and, yes, rewards as they strive to have it all. That’s why we’ve created a special place just for women like you.
You’ll find information on finding time for the many hats you wear; how to manage work before, during, and after your pregnancy; and what kind of benefits working moms should expect—and demand, and more.
(Come to think of it, “and more” could be the slogan of the career mother.)

I've recently had to move to a part-time position at work because I want to spend more time with my newborn baby, and my boss agreed to let me go part-time for a year. As I get closer to the end of the year, the pressure to return to work full-time had me knocking on HRs door again. Although they are not very comfortable letting me take some more time off as a part-time employee, I've been given an extension.
The problem lies in the fact that part-time work arrangements are not something they want people doing. They have explicitly told me that "there a fertile lot of us here, and we can't have too many people going your route." All this mind you has come to me with a pay-cut and a sort of a demotion, but the responsibilities still remain the same.
I enjoy working here, but I'm not sure I want them treating me this way. Any pointers?
