10 Things a Lady Should Never Do in Public
The Frisky | DivineCaroline

5. Talk on Your Phone in a Public Bathroom or Dressing Room
Bathrooms and dressing rooms are sort of like Vegas. What happens in them should stay in them, and you with your phone broadcasting every sound to God knows who and subjecting the rest of us to some inane conversation that can absolutely wait until you no longer have your pants around the ankles is not honoring that sacred code.
6. Ask Your Partner or Spouse If They Love You
It’s uncomfortable for them; it’s uncomfortable for us. Save your strange pillow talk for when you’re horizontal.
7. Tweeze Errant Hairs or Pop a Pimple
While I understand the temptation of removing any evidence that you’re less than perfect, doing so in public not only underscores your imperfections, it makes you look, well, kinda nasty.
8. Criticize Your Partner or Spouse
Sure, they may deserve it—especially if they’re treating a waitress like crap or ogling other people, but there’s a time and a place for everything, and in public when everyone can hear your private conversation is not it.
9. Adjust the Girls
We’ve all been there before: a breast slips below your underwire or heads too closely to your armpit, but until you find a private spot, resist the urge to reach into your bra and readjust.
10. Pee All Over the Toilet Seat
If you do happen to have bad aim, remember the old adage: If you sprinkle when you tinkle, please be neat and wipe the seat!

There is a time number six should be followed and there is a time who cares!
When you are iat an event with long lines waiting for restroom you should not need to make an phone call then. But at an average restroom with waiting it probably is fine to make an call if needed! As long as your not doing like camera stuff with phone.

I don't know about number 5 and 6. I guess it depends on how loud you speak or how loud you ask.

I disagree with the "ask your spouse if they love you" part. If your husband truly loves you, it won't matter where you ask him, he'll be glad to tell you at any time and at any place...unless you have an incredibly selfish husband who chooses to use you as a trophy wife and gets embarrassed at simple questions like "do you love me?" How superficial...

I don't get the not crossing legs. I don't see anything wrong with the way the lady in the picture of this article is sitting. I always thought that was a way for a proper lady to sit. Obviously crossing your legs like Sharron Stone did in Basic Instinct or crossing like a yogi is what not to do in a skirt.

Well, I hope nobody does number 10 "in public" !
Good article, and I guess some people still have to learn how behaving in public places like restaurants ....

For Number 10, if you are going to pee standing up, first raise the sit, then when finished lower the sit for other women!

This should be common sense to people, but unfortunately I see a lot of this happening daily as well....

Kudos! Now the trick would be can we get women to buy-in especially the cell phone and the toilet. Do women not realize how dirty their hands are once they leave their home? Why would you want to touch your beautiful complexion with a dirty hand, that always baffles me and women use hand lotion while traveling on mass transit Yikes!!!!

Good article! It is good to know that lady like behaviors are still valuable. I once met a 'lady' who was a road construction engineer, she taught me that to be a lady doesn't not mean you have to be weak. She was respected among her colleagues because of her good manners and her brains!

Crossing legs while wearing a skirt may not be a big deal, depending on the length of the skirt (if it is long, then it does not matter), and technically, peeing on the toilet seat is not done "in public," because no one is seeing you do it (and they can't really hear it much), but either way I do not like seeing pee on the toilet seat. Also, I do not think it is a big deal to talk on the phone in a public bathroom or dressing room as long as the conversation is not too personal. I really don't care if the person in the stall next to me hears me telling my boyfriend that I love him ... and again, if there is no one in the bathroom, then it really does not matter. Many of these tips are obvious, but some of them depend on the situation. Sometimes "manners" are more about being overly concerned with what others think than about just being polite.

Since when do we actually need to be told this?
This is just plain common sense. My mother told me most of this when I was very little and the rest I could easily figure out. Funny to read through and useful if you didn't know it. But honestly I already knew this.
