Book Report: A Learning Experience for Both Students and Teachers

A book report is a common school requirement. Students have no other recourse, but to comply even if they are not comfortable with their writing skills.
Like any other essays, a book report provides both the students and teachers the opportunity to learn. Some people may ask how this scenario happens. But in this fast-paced age where every minute is important, reading a dozen of books may prove to be too tasking for teachers. Thus, requiring students to submit book reviews or reports is a good option.
On the part of students, every book report they submit must meet the specifications set by their professors. They must give emphasis on the following:
Clear Introduction
An essay such as a book report must convey a concise statement in the first few paragraphs. This will help the writer of the paper gain a strong foothold to make his or her statements on the book’s message or purpose.
In-Depth Body
In writing a review of a specific book, students must evaluate the material on various factors, including its impact on the reader, the author’s writing style and the book’s genre. It is also important for the students to create an extended summary of the book, with some paragraphs to be dedicated for their remarks.
Students must also discuss in the subsequent paragraphs if the book’s ending is satisfactory or not (in fiction cases) or whether a strong evidence supports the thesis statement (in non-fiction cases). They must also discuss the interesting or notable facts about the book.
Straightforward Conclusion
In ending a book report, students should just devote a paragraph or two to cover the material’s important aspects. In some cases, re-stating the name and the book’s author is advisable to conclude a paragraph. However, students must never forget their professor’s guidelines in doing an assignment.
