THis one makes you cry and laugh at the same time. I watch it everytime its on and never get tired of it. The the casting too.

because its about women of different personalities and stations and how they all interact with the world and thier personal problems.

I think that this movie showed all women how to learn, love, and loose loved ones together. We can all learn something from these characters.

This is a classic, not only for the performances by brilliant female performers but for the heartwarming and heartrending truths about and from women 'letting their hair down' together.
A brilliant story about courage of the heart.

This is certainly a great movie for me because I'm from Louisiana where they filmed and whenever I watch it it reminds me of home. Some things that most people don't know are:
*this is a true story only Jackson is really a DR not a lawyer and he is the one that pushed to have the movie made. He lives outside Shreveport.
*the actresses would go out and "pass a good time" quite often while filming but never got into too much trouble.
*the people that live in Nacotoches are exactly like these characters - exactly.

This is one of my favorite movies. I love the camaraderie of all the women and I thought they were inspiring to the strength of women.

This is also one of those movies that I can watch over and over. It makes me laugh and cry, sometimes all at the same time

This is a great movie with a fantastic cast.

This is one of the best tear jerkers of all time! I'm not even that into this genre of movie, but Steel Magnolias grabs your heart and doesn't let go. These women have an excellent chemistry on screen which is not often achieved. It really makes the story stick with you long after you watch it.

Such a great movie with a wonderful cast. You get to love all the characters and you actually feel all their roller coaster emotions from beginning to end.

This movie actuallly deserves 10 stars. Dolly, Sally, and Julia are truly at their best in this film. I think this is probably my all time favorite movie. It's captivating, funny, warm, heartbreaking, and many other's all rolled into one film. I have yet to see another movie be able to top this one.

This movie tops the list of my Alltime Favorites! I can watch it over and over - and still laugh and cry in all the same places!

What a tear jerker. But just goes to show you that life does go on.

This is another tear-jerker that is full of some very talented actresses. Sally Field has been so under-rated in my opinion in her career. She is fantastic in this movie as is Julia Roberts, Shirley Maclaine and of course the incredible Olympia Dukakis and Dolly Parton. A generation of friends come together to teach the young Julia Roberts about life and support each other through highs and lows.

Another great movie about friendship!!!
