    My favorite spa in the United States (so far.) In the remote Texas Hill Country, it is an escape from crazy city life. The food is delicious and nutritious. The accommodations are welcoming without being homely. Plus, the spa is unbelievable. I enjoyed the yoga, pilates, water sports, and Tai Chi classes. I also liked the lectures on alternative medicines like "Getting in Touch with Your Chakras" and "Gardening Your Way to Health." There is even a day trip to the original Whole Foods in Austin where a nutritionist teaches you how grocery shop for the best products. I loooooove Lake Austin Spa.

    The accomodations are very comfortable and the decor is somehow stimulating and calming. The classes are innovative, fun and challenging. Although the menu is average, the food is good. And the spa services are creative, but there is no offering for the day you have a strenuos workout. They are very accomodating with fabulous service. Lake Austin is a great destination when you want to be pampered.
