What magazines do you read regularly or subscribe to?  I subscribe to Money, Kiplingers, Bon Appetit, Gourmet and Architectural Digest (loved AD since reading them with my grandmother when I was a little girl).

Those are all great magazines - I love Better Homes and Gardens (great recipes); Smithsonian and National Geographics.

OMG! Someone found my achilles heel. I have tons of magazines that I can't read fast enough, before the next ones come along. I have got to get a grip on this issue. I read, or have read- Women's Home Journal--- Good Housekeeping--- Country Home---Creative Home--- HomeCompanion---Consumer Report--- Real Simple---some genaology magazines--- Oprah--- Southern Living--- and my all time favorite, Shop Smart. There are too many to go into. It's a sad situation.

Catalogues are another matter entirely.

OH Honey!  I realized that I was subscribing to catalogs from places that I never even tried to shop at!  I had to put a stop to that!

Southern Living is a must for me.  I would buy it for the recipes ALONE, but there are often really good seasonal and household articles in there.  Even when I moved to Phoenix for 3 years, I still had to have my Southern Living (and they sold it out there, ironically!)

Speaking of which, I have a pile at my feet at the moment, calling my name to get off the computer and "read me".  :)

Mine (most of which I don't actually pay any money for):

  • Time (previous to this it was Newsweek - they seem to be almost the same magazine to me)

  • Martha Stewart Living

  • Paste (I'm disappointed with this and will not be renewing)

  • Lucky (my airline miles were about to expire)

  • Elle (another airline miles magazine I subscribed to went under, so this got automatically replaced by the publishing co)

  • Allure (airline miles)

  • National Geographic/Traveler (airline miles)

  • Travel & Leisure (airline miles)

  • Shape (airline miles)

  • Maxim (ok, this is my husband's subscription, but it's funny and I really like to read it)

Wow.. I feel like I am the wierd one because I only subscribe to 3 magazines.

Real Simple       (although after a 4 yr subscription, I am begining to feel there is too much topic repetition)

Rachel Ray        (Subscription is up in December, will be switching to the Food Network mag instead)

Shop Smart       (the sister publication to Consumer Reports, same testing organization behind it, but the focus is on the small ticket, everyday items we purchase- plastic wrap, laundry stain treaters, online grocers, peanut butter, etc.)

And a freebie mag/ newsletter I tell everyone about- Kraft Friends and Family (or maybe its Food and Family??) Sign up on the website and 4 times a year they send you this magazine that is FULL of recipes (all with Kraft products of course) and coupons. Tons of realistic (and seasonal) meal ideas- even if you use your own favorite brands. Full meals, snacks, appetizers, desserts, side dishes, entertaining/ "wow" items.

Well, never mind about the free Kraft magazine- now they are charging for subscriptions and only sending out freebie e-newsletters.

Not a good idea Kraft.
