| Posted about 1 year ago I certainly am NOT ready for the holidays. I plan on relocating the week of Christmas. So my goal is to get moved and have some normal type of Christmas as well. | Posted about 1 year ago holidays! what holidays? I in the middle of looking for an apartment, (almost a year now), finding another job, and still paying off the money for the new uniforms my kids school decided to get this year. I had a birthday in september, my son, my daughters birthday today, halloween, which we know is one of the biggest holidays for the kids, (I'm actually recycling some birthday pirate outfits for that day), then a birthday in December, my other son which is on the 22. holidays? |

| Posted about 1 year ago My boyfriend actually said that we should convert to Jahova's Witnesses this year just for the sake of being able to pay our bills...it's a shame you can't explain the state of the economy to small children like my son who would gladly for go electricity for a $100 Star Wars ship. |

| Posted about 1 year ago We are going home for Christmas, and I booked the trip in August. For Thanksgiving, our plans are flexible since we cannot afford to go home for both holidays, we'll stay local. |

| Posted about 1 year ago I hear you ladies!! I have 4 children, 3 of which are from a previous marriage and 2 of those children (my boys) live with their father in montgomery, AL while i live in nm with my new husband, new baby girl and my daughter from my previous marriage. needless to say travel expense for the boys to come here for christmas vacation comes first. that doesnt include winter clothes for everyone. gifts are going to be sparse. but we always seem to work it out, dont we?! We are the ones that have to keep the spirits high and the faith strong and somehow make a miracle occur. with thinking about christmas i havnt even begun to think about thanksgiving. Halloween is easy, we are recycling costumes for the girls this year. I would love to be able to decorate the house and make it fun for the neighborhood kids but who has the time or extra money. And i have looked into the J.W. thing and not celebrating holidays would be less stressful, but thats ok. I will pull it together. Even if its the night before! Good luck and less stress to all for the season. keep us posted! Thank you for joining the group! I will post a new discussion this weekend. |

My daughters b-day was this month then my husbands and my moms are coming up. so i have 3 b-days to worry about before the holidays even hit! Craziness! Luckily my daughter was only turning 4 so shes easy to please. My husband doesnt ask for much even though i try to pull out "all the stops" for him because he works so hard and hes so supportive. You do what you can girl. The divalicious momma way is to work it! whether its at the dollar store or Neiman Marcus! |

| Posted about 1 year ago My children get one big present from Santa Claus (they dont believe in him, but i still enjoy it) and then they get a few small presents. They are great kids and they appreciate whatever they get. All I have to say to them that things are tight and they understand. Last week my 7 year old son, had $5 he was saving and asked me if I needed it. I almost cried. actually its really me that wants to give them more. i love to get them the things they want because they are great. i always thinks its not enough. but thats the mommy in me rosalia |
