| Posted about 1 year ago Oh, what a good topic. I don't have to hesitate on this one. It was a home-made Raggedy Ann doll that my aunt made when I was born. When I got older, I would raise her dress up, and look at the embroidered heart. I thought that the heart was my little secret, which made me feel special. I still have her, but a little worse for the wear! "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you."

| Posted about 1 year ago Oh wait, and my barbie dolls...and one Christmas I actually got the swimming pool!!! I was so excited, that I sat on the box everyday until my grandfather decided to put it together. And when he did finally get around to it...it had a huge hole in the pool. It seems I was a little too chubby to be sitting on the box all day and all night! So they took it back, only for them not to have any more in stock. Ms. Antoinette M. | Posted about 1 year ago My favorite toy as a child was a yellow and green turtle that was only mobile if you pulled it by the string. The little legs moved every time you gave it a tug. My mom still has that little turtle. I'm not sure why is was my favorite...it just was. Need Breeds Ingenuity!

| Posted about 1 year ago When I was young I had a lot of playthings, but I also had a lot of pets so toys weren't my faves. My grandfather bought me a chocolate poodle when I was 3. As it turns out he was a my favorite thing to hang out with. We were best buds. His name was Peppy because he was so hyper. May he rest in peace. :) |

| Posted about 1 year ago As I was growing up, there was not a great deal of discretionary income, so Christmas was mostly family time with a wonderful meal; but I do remember, when I was 9 years old, my mother and father surprising me with a blue bike they had found at Goodwill for an acceptable cost... and the joy in that was incredible. It represented a freedom I had not yet experienced, and the world, at that moment, was wide open! I often wonder if my children, in all the excesses they are granted from family and friends, have ever truly had a moment like that... I am prayerful that they have, and will again. What a lovely memory to relive; thank you for the topic! http://www.marykay.com/CRabel

Come to think about it the only actual toy that I didn't grow out of in a few days was my 'glow worm'. Loved it!! |

LOL - my mom also said I did the same thing from time to time! My favorite toy? I actually have a tie: Well I loved my Kiss Me Baby. She was a rubber doll, and when you held her face up to your cheek, then squeezed her hand/wrist, it felt like she was giving you a kiss. I LOVED THAT! The other which is along the same lines and I STILL get one each and every Christmas is a BARBIE DOLL!!! I'm a collector actually of the Christmas Holiday Barbies as well as individual collector Barbies. I have all of them (the big collector ones) that started from 1988 to 1998 and after that, they still sold one for Christmas and I have all of those. (Oooh! And for those who collect these too, remember the year that Mattel had to recall them because of the flaw in the fabric of her dress and then had to issue "rain checks" and many people did not receive their dolls until the spring and summer? I have one of the originals with the flaw!! LOL) Hey, I even have a Barbie for the world renowned Cherry Blossom Festival here in Macon, GA. In 1996, they did a special one made by Barnes Furs here in Macon. I may never have a fur coat or a fur muff, but I have a Barbie doll who has a cherry blossom fur coat and muff! LOL - Everything Barbie I LOVE!!!! Marie Feazell The greatest thing a man can do in this world is to make the most possible out of the stuff that has been given him. This is success, and there is no other. - Orison Swett Marden The willingness to accept responsibility for one's own life is the source from which self-respect springs. - Joan Didion |
but for a brief moment, that pool was my favorite toy!!!
I loved Raggedy Ann, too, but how sweet to have a home-made one. I made sure my daughter had an "Annie", too. Unfortunately, our dog decided Annie would be a good thing to eat. (Well, truthfully, she preferred Winnie the Pooh)
