What do you think happens to us after we die?  Do you believe in reincarnation?  Where does our soul go?  What is a soul?

I would love to read what your take is on this subject.

Laura, do you think we choose who we or what we come back as?  Who or what would you like to come back as?  I should also ask you... do you believe that we can only come back as a "who" or is a "what" possible too?

You can come back as a bug, a bird, a tree, it all depends on what you are trying to learn, or what punishment you deserve.  For instance, the guy from Autrallia should come back as a roach, or something more baseless.  I do believe that some do reach enlightenment but stay behind to teach others to reach it as well but that falls more into the lines of Buddhism and while I have great respect for Buddhist monks I would never have the patience or the selfless love that they have and show but if you ever get the chance, visit a temple, meet them, you will never meet such a loving bunch and unlike other religions they are ......peaceful.....and not judgemental I have yet to met a monk who wants to burn me, thump me, or tells me to go to hell.  If anything they like to brush my hair listen gleefully while I try to pronounce something or other or laugh at me when I try to stand and my leg is asleep and fall over or like a few years ago get tripped by a buddha cat and made to stay seated due to kitty wanting me as a pillow and needing much lovings.  I was told that I was lucky since the cat does not like many people!.

Hey Laura, (miss you)!  It sounds like you are well versed in your beliefs.  Kudos to you!  Standing up for what you believe is awesome.  It also sounds like you have been around.. not like that!  You know what I mean.  Thank you for your insight!

Our soul is our emotional or moral core. The spiritual nature of humans, regarded as immortal, & separable from the body at death.I've never met anyone who has come back from the dead to tell me that they were in a place of happiness or torture.

I'm not certain yet but I'm on a quest to find out.

I didn't really think about it much.  Religion was not part of my childhood so I never knew what to believe.  Almost 10 years ago my older sister died and I started to wonder what happens after you die.  I'm not sure if I believe in Angels or ghosts but I believe it is possible.

My dad died almost 3 years ago.  Earlier this year I joined Cookie Lee to sell jewelry.  I really wanted to go to convention in August but I didn't have the money. 2 days before registration, I won $1,000 on a scratch ticket. This was enough to pay for registration, the plane ticket and the hotel room with enough left to buy jewelry from the new catalog.  2 weeks later I won another $500.  I am not that lucky but my dad was.  He would always win when he went to Reno.  It helps me to think that my dad was helping me out because he knew how important it was for me.  I am the youngest of 3 daughters and I think he worried about me the most.

His death is still very hard for me to deal with so believing that some part of his soul is around looking after me helps me get through the day.  I would like to believe that he and my sister are together and have finally found peace in death that they never had in life.

June - a wonderful gift from your Dad - his luck!  I lost my Dad (my best friend and mentor) four years ago and I miss him everyday.

Reincarnation?  Deep subject - I am hard-wired in such a way that I was forced to believe in it long ago (hard for me as there are no explanations regarding it anywhere in the bible) - there are whole cultures though that accept this concept as matter of fact.

I don't know how it is all organized - if we assume the universe is infinite - if we agree that you can't destroy energy, only change it - if we agree the only constant in life is change, well - anything is probably true.

I can say, I have a wonderful relationship with my grandfather - he's a wonderful support in my life - and he died in a car crash years before I was born - I'm sure someone has written books on how that works - for me - I don't question it - I am grateful for this relationship nonetheless.

Your loved ones are always looking out for you.  I think that is where the idea of the guardian angels come into play, I know my grandfather is always there, my grandmother and my friends that did not survive, they got my back and it sounds like your father has yours.  Once and a while try talking, let him know how you are, I know it sounds weird but a loved one normally stays because they love you so much.  They like to know your ok.

Thanks Rosalia!  You are so wonderful and it would be a spiritual gift to sit down with you and share a cup of coffee (or tea).  A gift for me definitely.

Thanks you for such a beautiful compliment!  I may take it and have it printed and put in a frame in my office; I'm know for doing things like that!  I really, really, appreciate your kindness and wish you so much happiness.  Thanks also for following my posts.

You're the best!

June~

Thanks for sharing your feelings.  How beautiful are your thoughts about your dad and your sister.  As I stated earlier, I don't know what our eternal destinations are but I do know (from experience) that our loved ones are near.  They watch and guide us throughout our lives.

When my daughter died, she appeared at my bedside on many nights to comfort me as I wept over missing her.  You are not alone in NOT understanding death.  Millions of people don't.  Many people say they understand it and they really WANT to understand it, but how could they, if they've never been there.

We're all on that quest together.  Here is something that helps me; I don't see death as the end.....I am not going to die, I am going to live life to the end.

How's that?

Blessings to you always,

~Angie

That's the key Angie, we need to live our lives.  We struggled a lot early on ( and still do) but we make more of an effort now to live our lives and get out and do things.  You never know when your time is up, so you should live it the best you can.

I believe that our souls are the energy that makes us who we are.  This energy is life when we are alive.  And energy does not die.  Where it goes, who knows.  I believe in the possibility of everything.  Reincarnation, sure.  I like to think that we come back as many times as it takes to learn all of the lessons we are meant to learn in this life.

I believe a soul can be everywhere and anywhere it wants to be when it finally lets go of the body, I  think it  'lives'  in a body to feel the physical side of exsistence ...I put it to you this ...How would you continue to exist for all enternity knowing everything about everything. I'm not talking about things like we learn with human experience ...I'm talking about having understanding without limit...So what we call the soul I think is a collective of energy that made the earth and everything else and we humans emerged eventually for the souls to exsist on a physical plain. I'm not a religious person but from my own experience the spirits of people do hang around ,some make their presence know while others seem a little lost.Dont know what experience you've had with spirits but I have had plenty ...I didnt think that it was even possible for them to be here, but I was WRONG! No ghost/spirit that i have 'spoken' to /that sounds really ridiculus to read it but i'm not going to insult the spirirts by denying they exsist. The ones I do speak with are usually in the form of their previous bodiley exsistence, I dont think we really ever die we just move on when our soul is ready to go.  I feel I havent really expressed myself very well, but peace and love to all, enjoy your journey.

I read a few posts about all of you who have lost your parents and let me tell ya, my eyes tear up even just thinking about my parents passing.  In fact - they're tearing up right now!!!!!

I'd like to believe in reincarnation but I really don't know.  I've been wondering a lot lately what happens when you die.  Do you come back?  Are you in a dark hole forever?  I guess we'll never really know.

I am unsure about recarnation, like if we were to come back and be something else......

I do believe that the people we love are watching over us and when things happen they happen for a reason.  Sometimes if we pay attention I am sure you probably can sense that it happened because our love ones are there and they are never really gone and when we weep they do too.  I believe in signs and sometimes I sense my love ones are never really gone.  They are here and they will be here.

I am a little unsure about re-incarnation but I would like to believe in it. I do believe however and very strongly that death is not the end. I believe our loved ones are able to see us and in some instances even contact us. I was in two instances many years ago when I am pretty sure I would have died [ at least in one case ] but for the fact my Grandmothers voice  came to me and told me to leave NOW.   Both times it was a voice in my head although it was not like a physical voice it was so obviously my Grans.    My Grandmother died when I was 12 and we were very close, but before she died she had a heart attack, a Dr was called, he called the Vicar, and she eventualy came back to us. She was furious with them both , she said it was beautiful up there and she could see everyone waiting and waving. When she did eventualy die a few months later it was in her sleep and she had such a lovely smile on her face.   Being a bit of a sceptic about many things, I wish I could have thought ahead and fixed up a sign with her beforehand so I could say  "see I told you so".

All are judged on Judgment Day.  I believe that those who have had the opportunity to know Jesus and who do not believe that He is their Savior will spend eternity separated from God, which will be hell.  For those who came before Jesus or who have not heard the Good News, I trust in God's grace.

I find that interesting as well . Is  Jibrail  who we call Gabriel?   Also, do you know what questions the angels are going to ask?  [ nothing like a bit of insurance is there? ]
