I thought it would be fun to see what movies y'all love to watch during the holidays.  What movie makes the Christmas season for you?

My favorite is "Holiday Inn" with Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire, Marjorie Reynolds, and Virginia Dale.  The song "White Christmas" premiered in this movie.

"People travel to wonder at the height of the mountains, at the huge waves of the seas, at the long course of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars, and yet they pass by themselves without wondering." ~St. Augustine

Those two are favorites of mine too - we have them on dvd so we can watch them anytime, another classic - Miracle on 34th Street - wonderful.

My favorite recent Christmas movie - if you haven't seen it - is Tim Allen's The Santa Clause - it's wonderful and answers all the good questions kids ask when they're trying to sort out whether or not Santa Clause is real.

A Christmas Carol without a doubt. I still get teary eyed every time I watch it. It's a Wonderul Life is also another classic and without it, it just wouldn't seem like Christmas!

My daughter loves Olive, the movie about the girl reindeer. It's cute.

As for cartoons I still love the old classics. I always forget the name of it but it's got the hot and cold meister...does anyone know what I am talking about?

With my grandkids keeping me current, the Polar Express is a good pick...

Angie:

You and I need to get together. IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE is my favorite movie in the whole wide world of all times!!! Black and white - NOT THAT COLOR VERSION!!!! LOL - After Ted Turner (I think) bought the rights to it, and cut down on the amount of times it's shown during the holidays, we finally just bought the DVD, and now we can watch it AT OUR CONVENIENCE on Christmas Eve. It's a tradition! Love it - Love it - Love it!!!!

I've watched that movie every Christmas as far back as I can remember. And I STILL cry at the end every time.

“The Preacher’s Wife” with Whitney Houston

“Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol”—I still sing some of the songs from it.

“How the Grinch Stole Christmas”

And of course, “A Charlie Brown Christmas”. It’s not Christmas without it!!
