Hello,

The guy I was dating for two months broke up with me a couple of weeks ago. He wanted a week of space before he saw me so I could give him some things. Well he walked me to my car and gave me a long hug and then kissed me on the lips very softly. Why would he break up with me and then continue to kiss me on the lips. As he was walking away he told me that he was glad to see me and then had almost a sad look on his face. We are friends and I still do care for him. I do know that a girl he was dating broke up with him before Christmas last year. He said it didn't phase him but I wonder if he really liked her more than he was telling me. When he broke up with me I mentioned to him that the both of us got invited to a New Year's Eve party and he told me that I should go and maybe I'll meet another guy.

You should read the book, "He's just not that into you".  Sounds like he cared about you but not as more than a friend.  Guys don't break up with a woman if they want to be with her.  So don't overthink it and make excuses for him, or hopes that aren't realistic.  Don't take it personal either, just cause he wasn't the one for you doesn't change the fact that there are millions of men in the world still left to choose from!
