Posted 10 months ago Do you feel its advisable to have plants in bedrooms? Basically would there be any harmful effects to the health especially from the carbondioxide which is known to be produced by the plants towards night. I was planning on placing several plug plants along my bedroom window which has a big aisle because I love watching greenery around me. |

| Posted 10 months ago I'm no expert, but i think it's ok, if the lighting is right. I have heard that you should avoid large living plants in the bedroom, though. ~Angie Angie Toussaint

| Posted 10 months ago I really don't know, but I think it would be just as dangerous as sleeping outside - in the woods or the back yard. I always feel great after sleeping in the woods, so I think green is good. Like camping inside. I love the idea you describe with the plug plants. |

| Posted 10 months ago I've had plants in every room of my house for many years and have never suffered an adverse reaction from it. I believe it helps you breathe better.

| Posted 10 months ago Plants actually help clean the air. I think if you have a few small plants that you love then find some pretty pots and go for it! "People travel to wonder at the height of the mountains, at the huge waves of the seas, at the long course of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars, and yet they pass by themselves without wondering." ~St. Augustine |

| Posted 10 months ago For what it's worth........recently I took a plant to the hospital when visiting a friend. I was told by the hospital staff it wasn't a good idea to bring a potted plant to a patient due to 'cooties'. Okay so they didn't say cooties but I got the point. The thought is there's the potential of bugs and bacteria, etc., in the dirt. |

| Posted 9 months ago Hi there Bluesea! I read all the replies and no one mentions PHOTOSYNTHESIS!! To make a long story short...plants will release oxygen during the day when they are exposed to sunlight, but during the night this process is inverted and instead of oxygen they release carbon dioxide! Seeing as we humans also release carbon dioxide while sleeping it seems to me that depending on the quantity of plants you have in your bedroom and unless you sleep with your windows open, it might not be the best idea to recreate a "jungle" environment... |
. I never would have thought to put plants in the bedroom...very interesting.
Hope this helps...
