I know.  Last night was very hard for me.  I sobbed off and on all night.  Michael Jackson was from Gary, Indiana, and the home where he grew up has been shown on TV all day.  It is a simple little white house, and looks empty and humble.  Townspeople were placing memorials there.   Is it not ironic that he missed his childhood, and only felt that he could feel most at ease in the presence of children?  That he has touched so many generations of the young, and influenced so many of us?  His presence  transcended  through the generations. I think forward to Michael Jackson's last travel in the hearse as I post this poem below.

Death - Emily Dickinson

Because I could not stop for Death,

He kindly stopped for me;

The carriage held but just ourselves

And Immortality.

We slowly drove, he knew no haste,

And I had put away

My labor, and my leisure too,

For his civility.

We passed the school, where children strove

At recess, in the ring;

We passed the fields of gazing grain,

We passed the setting sun.

Or rather, he passed us;

The dews grew quivering and chill,

For only gossamer my gown,

My tippet only tulle.

We paused before a house that seemed

A swelling of the ground;

The roof was scarcely visible,

The cornice but a mound.

Since then 'tis centuries, and yet each

Feels shorter than the day

I first surmised the horses' heads

Were toward eternity.

SongofJoy, the poem you posted is so beautiful and touching. Michael's death it's a great loss for his fans, for the pop culture, for the family and even for the enemies. He was indeed a phenomenon, unconventional and a complex person, with his bad sides and good sides.

RIP

I agree , a very touching poem Carmen.  I remember the first time I saw him on TV as that cute little bundle of energy and have followed his career ever since, with it's ups and downs, and I always felt a sympathy for him.  May he rest in peace. I hope he is allowed to do that in dignity, and my prayers are for his children. I hope they are not forced into the hard world too cruelly.

I feel very sorry for Michael jackson death. i never thought of his death, his death was a gr8 shock to me and my other sibblings which was unbearable for us. he was an energetic personality and loving to every one, free of proud but was normal to every one though he was a big icon in world.

This was an excellent article on lessons that can be learned from Michael Jackson about searching for the right job.  Take a look at this:
