SOOOOOOOOOOOO much more!!!!  Not only does she remind me of that fact every time I talk to her, she says it herself and has been saying it since I was in high school.

I think that as each generation having better education and improving media sources. We have to be smarter than our mother, even our father as well!

The important thing is to talk to your parents while you can.  Otherwise, suddenly they're gone, and there's so much about them, they're family, childhood, etc., that is lost forever.  This doesn't quite answer the question - I certainly have more education than my mother had, but she knew a lot that wasn't from books.

It is so amazing, the older I have gotten, the wiser my mother has gotten. When I was a self centered self involved young girl/teenager, my mother was "sooo dumb". Thank God I did outgrow that idiocy finally and see her for what she is and  for what she knows.

Education wise yes I know more than she does. To some extent by way of life experiences I know more as well, does that make me wiser that her? not really.

My mother is classified as elderly, she is now 82. I get so weary of people that look on the elderly as a burden or a liability. That is so far from the truth, there is so much to be learned by listening to the wisdom of the years, older people are one of our great assets if we would but stop and take the time to truly listen to what they have to teach us.

No way!  My Mom is one smart cookie!

My struggle is with my three teenagers---because the "I Know" Monster has Stolen them.  Check it out...it isn't monkey business.

I think if it weren't for my Mom and what she has taught me---I wouldn't be here.  She taught me that there is humor in life--you must choose to see it and be a part of it.
