Hello, I am presently unemployed and a full time student. I've been hunting a job for the past 9 months with no luck. What am I doing wrong or is it the city of Mobile, Al. I've been thinking about moving and seeing what other cities have to offer. Where do I start? I am frustrated with the job market here, I cannot even get good volunteer opportunties here. I don't know what to do, Help!

during interviews I feel overstimulated. I try to prepare myself to the best of my ability and I take it seriosly but once then questions fly at me I feel "retarded" like I dont know how to answer or ask a question.. I dont feel nervous so im not sure why my reaction timing is so delayed or why I get so confused and distracted. I can see the fustration in people faces when I'm interacting with them. Im not sure how to go about this problem.

For the original poster: it may just be the lack of opportunity in your area or it could be your resume, interview/social skills, lack of experience, etc.. I can't pinpoint it because I'm not sure where it is that you are hitting the wall.  Is it that you can't get interviews, there are not jobs available or do you not get call backs after the interview? One thing that may be helpful is to stress the fact that you are a student and therefore learning new techniques that the company may not have implemented and could that these techniques could further the sucess of their company.

For the second poster:  I had the same problem.  What I did to get over that hump is think of all the questions interviewers usually ask me.  If you can't remember search the web for typical interview questions.  Once you've done that think the questions over, write down your answer and practice (alone or with a friend) answering the questions with the answers you've written. Those interviewing you want to know that you have actually given these questions some thought.  You should be able to answer right away and have a since of who you are (your strengths and weaknesses) as well as what you want and why you want to work for their company. Let them know what you can do for them, not what they can do for you.
