THIS IS OUR TIME

Our best month ever!

June was The New Agenda’s most successful month since our inception.

• We welcomed hundreds of new members to our organization.


• Our blog traffic was 50% higher in June than any month in our history.


• We built new alliances all over the blogosphere (unity!).


• We continued this month to be a go-to voice for the media on women’s issues including Reuters, NPR, Townhall, Newsday, and New York Daily News.


• We successfully completed our maiden fundraiser For the Herstory Books (see pictures here and video here.)

And it’s working!

The culture in our country is shifting ever so slowly and The New Agenda is leading the charge!

We were a lead organization in speaking out about David Letterman’s derogatory comments on Governor Palin’s teenage daughter. Tens of thousands of our viewers joined in our website efforts to mobilize through boycotts. We issued press releases and were interviewed by the media.

The New Agenda’s President Amy Siskind was a leading voice around the Letterman/Palin episode through a 3 part, featured series in The Huffington Post - all 3 articles were among the “most viewed” and the “most commented”: Sexism Against Conservative Women is Still Sexism, Letterman Quietly Ushers in the Next Wave of Feminism, and As We Exhale, How We Reached the “Letterman Limit”. One new member from CA liked Amy’s first article so much that he paid to publish it as a 2-page ad in the Hollywood Reporter!

In the end, Letterman apologized to the young women - our daughters - of this country. We didn’t squander this teachable moment. WE WON!!!

But we can’t do it alone!

The New Agenda is growing fast and spreading our wings to become a national movement. Behind the scenes, we are 100% volunteers. But as we become a formal organization, we need to pay for professionals such as accountants, web designers, lawyers and more. It’s only with your generous help that we can continue on in our efforts to eradicate sexism.
